"Parents report that kids come home from Kids’ Test Kitchen EXCITED about fresh ingredients and new recipes! Reluctant eaters learn that food is safe and fun! And everyone practices essential life skills like teamwork, time management, patience, along with the obvious skills like slicing, measuring, and cooking! On a mission to redefine kid food; Kids’ Test Kitchen’s enthusiastic Facilitators get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients! Kids’ Test Kitchen presents kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with an opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned! Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation is encouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own. Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes. Yes – join us again! Each series of classes offers fresh new recipes to prepare and explore! Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. We know allergies and can work around them, making sure that everyone is having fun and staying safe. *Families who have students with allergies or other necessary dietary modifications will be required to complete our diet modification form before the first class. This program gives young children a gentle introduction to robotics and engineering concepts through hands-on play with LEGO® bricks. Participants explore simple machines, movement, and cause-and-effect while building their own basic robots and mechanical creations. Throughout the program, children engage in guided activities that encourage experimentation, creativity, and problem-solving. They learn how parts work together to create motion and simple functions, developing an early understanding of engineering and STEM principles in a fun and age-appropriate way. Collaboration and teamwork are emphasized as students share ideas and work together on building challenges. By combining imaginative play with foundational robotics concepts, the KinderBots Robotics program provides a playful and educational experience that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and fosters a love for STEM learning from an early age. This program allows students to bring the prehistoric world to life by designing, building, and programming robotic dinosaurs and other ancient creatures using LEGO® bricks and motorized components. Participants explore how movement, gears, and sensors work together to make their creations walk, roar, and interact with their environment. Throughout the program, students test and refine their robots, experimenting with different designs and programming commands to make their prehistoric creatures come alive. This process develops critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, while also teaching fundamental robotics and engineering concepts. Collaboration and teamwork are emphasized as students share ideas, troubleshoot challenges, and improve their designs together. By combining imaginative play with hands-on robotics, the Prehistoric Creature Robotics program provides a fun, educational experience that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and inspires a love for STEM learning.
